Let’s face it, your car doesn’t care about your schedule or your location.  It’s not going to wait to break down because it’s an inconvenient time for you.  Cars are going to have problems and break down whenever they choose to.  It would be perfect if every time you had to have a flat tire it was at a convenient time and location.  That simply isn’t reality, however.

We know that cars break down at all hours of the day.  You might need to drive to your friend’s house at 10pm for whatever reason.  If your car breaks down, then you need to find a towing company that can actually help you out outside of normal business hours.

We will also always have a driver on staff ready to go at all times.  We had to work hard over time to get our scheduling system down, but we have finally got it down where someone can come out to your location whenever something happens.  It doesn’t matter if it’s at 3 in the morning.

What Happens When You Call Us

A lot of people wonder what exactly happens when they have a need for a tow truck, they find us, and then they give us a call.  We thought we would give a brief rundown of exactly how things work when you dial our number.

The first thing that you will notice is that we actually answer the phone.  I’m not sure you will find too many other tow truck companies that are responsive and pick up the phone when you call them.  What’s more, when you call them, there is really no guarantee that they will even call you back.  If they do call you back, it will probably be too late at that point.  You don’t want to be stuck on the road without the ability to get your situation fixed for too long.

When you call us, we answer the phone.  From there, we will hear your situation.  We will then notify one of our drivers of the situation and send someone out to meet you immediately.  We take pride in how quickly we can get someone out to see you so that you can be on your way as quickly as possible.

We’ll tell you what our prices are, and then you’ll be able to go from there.  If you accept, our driver will meet you, take care of everything in a fast and professional fashion, and then hopefully from there you’ll be on your way.  Once you finish paying and the driver has fixed everything, you’ll be back out on the road and ready to rock.

What Happens When My Car Breaks Down?

It happens to everybody at some point.  Maybe they run over a rock in a strange way and their tire goes flat.  Maybe it’s cold outside and their battery is a old so it finally goes dead.  Maybe the person didn’t realize they haven’t taken their car in to get checked in a long time and it just breaks down.  Whatever the case, it’s never any fun to have your car break down.

People may think they know what to do when their car breaks down, but more times than not, they actually don’t really know what to do.  If you have a AAA membership, then the first thing you should do is call them.  They will fix you up right away because that is what you paid for and that is what you are going to get.

If you don’t have a AAA membership, then the first thing you should realize is that you shouldn’t panic.  There is always going to be a solution.  No matter where you are or what the situation is, there’s going to be a solution and panicking will only make matters worse.

Don’t try to fix the car yourself if you aren’t 100% experienced and sure of what you are doing.  This is especially true when we are talking about jumping a car battery.  If you aren’t careful there, you could put one end onto the wrong side and blow your engine up.  The cost of making a mistake there is just too high to justify doing it yourself if you don’t know what you are doing.

The best thing to do if you need roadside assistance is simply to call us.  We are very responsive, so when you call we will answer, or at least we will give you a call back right away.  We can walk you through what to do and we will also send an experienced driver out to your location right away.

Are These The Most Epic Towing Failures?

Have you ever seen a compilation of towing failures before?  If you haven’t, then you are really missing out.  They can be truly hilarious.  Fortunately, no one of these epic failures have happened to us at this point.  That is mainly because we train our drivers so well and they have so much experience that we just don’t think this would ever happen to us.  We have found that with the right training and experience, you can avoid making the mistakes that the people in this video have made.  Throw in some basic common sense and you won’t be facing any epic towing failures any time soon.  Check out the video below and have yourself a good laughing nine minutes.

Learning From The Mistakes Of Others

Every once in a while, we come across funny videos where some tow truck operator has an epic fail.  While we laugh at those situations, we also know that if we aren’t careful something like that could potentially happen to us.  The last thing we ever want to have happen is us making an avoidable mistake and having someone take a video of it that goes viral across the Internet.  Having said that, take a look at the video below.

You can see that the tow truck driver made some classic errors and it ended up in disaster for him and the person who owned the car.  This caused some damage that was clearly avoidable and it certainly hurt the company’s reputation.  The video has a lot of views, so unfortunately the company got a lot of bad press because of it.  We laughed at first at this video, but then we realized that it’s possible it could happen to one of our drivers.  As a result, we watched the video a few more times, and we spoke with our team members to make sure we have processes in place to make sure that something like this would never happen to us.  At Asheville Towing Pros, we are always learning and trying to improve ourselves.  That’s our philosophy, and we think our customers appreciate it.

Making A Towing Company

A lot of people have asked us what all was involved with getting our towing company started and what are the keys to its success.  We thought we’d put together a few thoughts as to the major keys to starting and running a successful towing company.

Marketing

Believe it or not, marketing is probably the biggest key to becoming a successful towing company.  If no one knows that you exist, then you will never get any phone calls and you will quickly go out of business.  How do you do marketing?  Well, there are many different ways to do that.  You can do lots of advertising to make sure that when people think of towing, they only think of you.  The problem is that people need towing at such random times that they won’t usually immediately think of one particular company when something does happen.

The best way to do marketing for towing is to show up highly when people search for related terms on google.  When something happens, people will go onto the Internet and type in on Google something like “towing company near me.”  If that’s the case, you want to pay an agency to make sure your website and company details is what shows up the highest.  That is a very effective form of advertising these days.

Personnel

You need to have the right personnel on your team or else you just won’t be successful.  You need to find drivers who are experienced and professional.  This just simply means you will have to do lots of vetting.  This is a big key to your success.

Equipment

You of course need to have the right trucks and make sure that you properly maintain them.  Don’t try to save a little bit of money here and there, because you will end up paying for it down the line.

Other than that, you just need to follow general small business advice.  Have great customer service and treat your employees well.  Be cognizant of your costs, and you should be able to be profitable!

Why We Think Asheville Is The Best

We have met a lot of people from all around the country and the world at this point.  We have many friends who live all over the place.  The one question we get consistently is why we live and work in Asheville.  A lot of people simply haven’t heard of it, so they don’t really realize how great it is.  We thought we would put together our top reasons for why we love living and working in this great state and great city so much.

Beauty

Having the Blue Ridge Parkway right here is just amazing.  You get to drive for 10 minutes and then find some amazing hikes that would truly make people jealous.  I don’t think anyone realizes just how breathtaking the area surrounding Asheville is.  The city itself is also actually very pretty, which is again something that I don’t think a lot of people understand or appreciate.  Whenever anyone comes and visits the city and the area for the first time, they are always blown away by how pretty it is.

People

You would be hard pressed to find a set of people better and more friendly than the good people of Asheville.  It’s something that will keep us here for the long haul.  I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else because this is the most interesting and friendly group of people that I have ever found.

Community

In addition to the people, there is a great sense of community here.  You really feel like you are living in a city on a hill.  Everyone is friendly and wants to help other people and the community as a whole out.

Food

The food here is fantastic.  The farm to table options are unrivaled in this country and it’s sort of a hidden gem that most people don’t know about.

All in all, North Carolina is a fantastic and diverse state, and Asheville is our favorite city in the country.  We wouldn’t want to live anywhere else!

How many tow truck companies near Asheville do you know that actually answer the phone?  There aren’t that many.  There certainly also aren’t that many that will call you back if you don’t get a hold of them.  From there, there aren’t too many that have people on call and ready to respond very quickly to fix your situation.  Lastly, we make ourselves available 24 hours a day.  We do this because we know that incidents with cars happen at all hours of the day and night.  Your car doesn’t car what time it is.  If it is going to break down, it’s not going to wait until normal business hours to do so.

We have a philosophy with our company: we charge what we must rather than what we can.  We didn’t enter this business so that we could charge a premium for our services.  We know what our costs are, and we know exactly what it takes to get things done.  We charge a reasonable markup from those costs and nothing more.  We would therefore put our prices up against everyone else in our area.  We think our customers appreciate this about us.  We are very transparent about our prices and we don’t try to charge extra once we show up to where your place is.

Experience

Sure, there are a lot of towing companies out there, but how many towing companies have the experience that we do?  We have decades of collective experience, and we have pretty much seen it all at this point.  There is no situation that we haven’t seen many times over.  It’s always great to know that you are in good hands when you need a tow truck.  We simply have the best experience to get things done quickly and to get things done right.

We’re Here Whenever You Need Us!

We all know that people drive at nights and on weekends.  But we also know that most towing companies aren’t actually available during those off hours.  As a result, you have a lot of auto incidents and no one to help out those people.  That mismatch of supply and demand is why we started our company and why we run it the way that we do.

What are we talking about here exactly?  Well, we simply mean that we are available 24 hours a day and also in emergency situations.  That means that if something happens to you at midnight and you need a tow truck, you can rely on us to be available, pick up the phone, and set a plan in place to get you back out on the road.  We don’t want you to have to dial a bunch of companies and find that no one actually answers the phone.  That is the last thing we want you to do.  We want to be the only company you think of when you need a tow truck.

Lincoln Towing Is Now Under State Investigation, Could Be Shut Down

CHICAGO — The Illinois Commerce Commission is investigating whether Lincoln Towing should be allowed to keep operating after "multiple violations and alleged violations of state law," according to the agency.

The ICC has investigated Lincoln Towing in 166 cases since July, according to the agency. The cases ranged from allegedly overcharging drivers and moving authorized cars to having improper invoicing and signs.

Lincoln Towing was found guilty of a violation in 28 of those cases, while 47 were closed and 92 are pending, the agency said.

Now, the agency will use those cases, any criminal records of Lincoln's owners and employees and Lincoln's safety record to determine whether it is fit to hold a license and should be allowed to operate, ICC Commissioner Miguel del Valle said.

There was no immediate comment from owners of the towing service Thursday. The company is owned by Protective Parking Service Corp., according to the ICC.

In early February, an Irving Park family reported its car had been taken by Lincoln Towing even though the car had been in its designated parking spot for months, and the family had satellite images to prove it. Lincoln Towing eventually gave the car back, saying the tow truck driver was new.
